Nigeria’s U-20 women team defeated South Africa 1-0 on Sunday, to
book their place in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
The Falconets won the first leg of the encounter 2-1 and Chiwendu Ihezuo’s winner, was enough to see off Basetsana at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
It is the fifth time Nigeria has qualified for the tournament.
They will be joined by either Ghana or Ethiopia as Africa’s two flag bearers at the competition.
