Ruud Gullit claims Chelsea have lost their fear factor and are like Tiger Woods these days.
The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City on Saturday – their third consecutive loss and their seventh in the Premier League this season.

“It’s like Tiger Woods,” Gullit said on Sky Sports.

“In the beginning everybody who was standing with Tiger Woods knew already that they had lost the game. Now people see him and Chelsea and think: ‘We can beat them.'”

Head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 team, Emmanuel Amuneke, has revealed that the changes he made in the second half is the reason they won against Mali.

The Golden Eaglets defeated the African champions 2-0 in the final, to win their fifth U-17 World Cup on Monday morning.

“We wanted to make no mistakes but we lost the ball many times in the midfield in the first half. But I don’t want to complain because they are all kids. We changed some things in the second half and made some substitutions. That brought us more safety in our game,” Amuneke said.

Golden Eaglets defeat Mali to win fifth U-17 World Cup title


Nigeria defeated African champions Mali 2-0 to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Tournament’s top scorer Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye scored in the second half, to seal a record fifth title for the Golden Eaglets.

They also become the second country after Brazil, to successfully defend their crown.

Emmanuel Amuneke’s boys failed to find their fluency in the first half and missed a penalty in the early exchanges, when Osinachi Ebere’s effort was saved by Samuel Diarra.

However, Osimhen found space in the area to finish first time past Diarra – his 10th of the competition. He is also the first player to score in every game of the championship.

Bamgboye then rifled past a static goalkeeper three minutes later.

FIFA U-17 World Cup: Osimhen wins Golden Boot, Nwakali emerges MVP


Two members of the victorious U-17 Nigerian team, that successfully defended their World Cup title in Chile, have been rewarded for their sparkling performances.

Victor Osimhen, who scored in all the matches and finished the tournament with a record-breaking 10 goals, was awarded the Golden Boot and the Silver Ball.


Captain Kelechi Nwakali, who has emerged as a target for Manchester City, was rated as the best player at the championship and also won the Bronze Boot after scoring three goals.


Diarra Samuel of Mali won the best goalkeeper, while his team-mate Aly Malle was awarded the Bronze Ball winner.

Victorious Golden Eaglets to arrive Nigeria Wednesday


Nigeria’s U-17 team, who won the just concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, are expected to arrive Abuja on Wednesday.
 
The Golden Eaglets will be hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari on arrival.

Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye scored for Nigeria, as they defeated African champions Mali 2-0 in the final played early on Monday.


It is the fifth time Nigeria will win the age group competition – a new record.
The Emmanuel Amuneke-led team departed Santiago for Nigeria on Monday aboard an Emirates Airline, according to a top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Also expecting the team is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Dgara posted on his Twitter page: “You have made us proud and proved your mettle. We await your return with the trophy.”

President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has said that President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a mention in the Guinness Book of Records.


The NFF boss said this on Monday in Santiago as he boarded a flight to Buenos Aires on the way back home from a success story at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.


2018 World Cup: Super Eagles begin training for Swaziland tie

The Super Eagles will begin training on Tuesday in preparation for Friday’s first-leg second round fixture in Lobamba for their FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifier against Swaziland.


Toyin Ibitoye, Super Eagles Media Officer, who disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said the decision to begin training on Tuesday followed the slow pace of players’ arrival.
