Police Recover Arms, Ballot Papers In Ex-militant’s Home

Not less than 35 people have been arrested at the residence of Soboma Jackrich, a former militant leader, popularly known as Egberipapa, at Buguma community, Asari Toru local government area of Rivers state.

According to New Telegraph, the raid was conducted by policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), anti-cultism unit, 19 Police Mobile Force (PMF) and 56 PMF in Rivers state.
The raid was said to have been carried out around 4am on Thursday, January 7, by policemen, who stormed a notorious criminal’s hideout in Buguma.

The police discovered items inluding arms, ballot papers and other dangerous weapons.

However it could not be confirmed if Jackrich, who is the founder of Kengema Unity Forum, was also arrested during the raid, as some former militants who worked with him refused to comment on the raid.
In a related development, former militants of the Niger Delta have threatened war if the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of radio Biafra,
