With
the winter transfer window open, let’s see what rumours regarding
Chelsea FC are flying around the press on this fine Monday morning.
The
January transfer window is now open, meaning that Premier League teams
(and their European counterparts) are free to buy and sell players until
the end of the month. Here at
The Pride Of London
we like to give you a daily round-up of all of the stories knocking
about . Most of these are incredibly speculative, but we will pursue
those with more grounding throughout the rest of the day.
Alex Teixeira
Shakhtar
Donetsk midfielder Alex Teixeira was linked with a move to West London
throughout the summer, with many sources even reporting that a deal was
done at times. As it turned out, that was not the case and Chelsea
failed to secure that marquee signing. Now, the rumours have returned
with the latest reports claiming that the duo of Oscar and Willian have
convinced their Brazilian teammate to sign. This could be the purchase
that saves Chelsea’s season.
According to Fichajes
the deal-breaker has been Teixeira’s close friendship with Willian and
Oscar. The two current Chelsea players have helped Teixeira decide that
his future belongs in west London. – via The Telegraph
John Stones
What
a saga this was. Several bids in excess of £30 million were rebuffed by
Everton and Jose Mourinho even publicly stated that they were tracking
John Stones. The defender has done little but raise his stock throughout
this 2015/16 campaign and thus is once again subject to transfer
speculation. However, with supposed competition from the likes of
Manchester United, Chelsea may be forced to cough up around £50 million
in order to secure his services.
Whether Chelsea or
United are the final destination for Stones though there is likely to be
a hefty transfer fee with reports suggesting it will take £50million
for Everton to part with their man. – via The Express
Branislav Ivanovic
Serbian
right-back Branislav Ivanovic has had somewhat of a torrid time at
Stamford Bridge lately. He has often been the target of the fans’ ire
throughout his Blues career, but this season has seen him put in some
awful displays. With his contract set to expire at the end of the term,
it is believed that he may not be kept on by Chelsea. Consequently, AC
Milan are said to be interested in signing him this January in an
attempt to avoid the open season that comes with free agency.

waiting until the summer when the right-back, who can also play
centre-half, will have more options. – via The Mirror
