Chelsea
maestro and Super Eagles defensive midfielder, John Obi Mikel is
enjoying a bit of a renaissance at Chelsea. The midfielder has been with
the Blues for years but came close to leaving in the summer, with Jose
Mourinho refusing to give him regular game time.
That’s changed under Guus Hiddink, and with Mikel avoiding being part of the alleged Mourinho revolt, he’s kept fans on his side.
And they tipped the Nigerian to win the Ballon d’Or after a strong showing in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace – that shifted Chelsea to 14th on the EPL log with 23points from 20 games. Mikel, who has now had 418 minutes playing time, is expected to star again in the Blues FA Cup home game against Scunthorpe United.
