Faleke has opposed Bello’s emergence as governor on the grounds that he was supposed to be declared governor-elect, not running mate or deputy governorship candidate.

Recall that Falake was the running mate to late Abubakar Audu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 21 governorship election in the state but the party leadership chose Bello as the late Audu’s replacement to contest the supplementary election which Bello eventually won.
